UAE driving license is now valid in South Korea. Holders can use it drive in South Korea. The UAE Ministry of Interior (MoI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with of South Korea Republic’s the National Police Agency on the exchange of driving licenses issued by the two countries.
By signing this memorandum, it will facilitate the movement of holders of driving licences issued by the relevant official authorities during the stay for citizens of the two countries.
During the signing ceremony there were presence of Brigadier General Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Director General of Licensing Federal Vehicles and Drivers, Brigadier General Mohammed Rashid Kashim Al Shamsi, Director General of the Undersecretary’s Office, a number of officers at the Ministry of Interior, and a number of South Korean Embassy officials.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the State of Korea, HE Yong Woo-kun, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Ministry of Interior for the signing of this memorandum, which contributes to promote cooperation between the two countries and facilitates the movement of citizens of the two countries. The Memorandum of Understanding also asserts the deep ties between the two countries in many areas, especially security, and complements the security memorandum signed in 2016 by the two sides.
